Our Engagement Story – Angie & Steve

Steve and I first met in January 2010. Steve’s brother, Scott, was in law school with my roomate, Racheal.  Scott had been trying to get us to meet for a while, but we were finally able to meet in at Molly Malone’s in Covington, KY.

I knew there was something special about Steve from the instant we first started talking.  I am from Lexington, KY and a big Kentucky fan.  There happened to be a UK basketball game on that night and Steve entertained me by watching it with me.  UK lost their first game of the season that night against South Carolina. I thought my chances with him were ruined because I was slightly mad that UK had lost… Lucky for me, Steve eagerly asked me on another date for later in the week and we have been inseparable since.

Steve and I both work a lot, so we really enjoy relaxing together.  He is always doing small things for me that mean so much.  We started playing golf together and like to go to the driving range or the golf course as often as possible.

Steve proposed on Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011.  It was the happiest moment of my life and also the most surprising! Steve and I had talked about getting married, but earlier that week he had said that it would be a while until we got engaged.
Little did I know, that he already had the ring and had it all planned out.  Steve bought the ring and didn’t tell anyone except my dad and his brother-in-law.

We had planned to have Easter dinner at his parent’s house.  My parents were also in Cincinnati and were going with us.  Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.  After dinner, Steve and I had planned an Easter egg hunt for his niece and nephew.  After the Easter egg hunt, Steve had his niece, bring me a special Easter egg. I opened the egg and Steve was down on one knee asking me to marry him. I was so overwhelmed with emotion that it took me a minute to say YES!  Our families were all around, and the room was filled with screaming and pure excitement. We were all amazed that Steve had been able to pull it off without anyone knowing.  It was truly perfect!

We are enjoying planning our wedding for June 9th, 2012 and are so excited for everything to come as we start our life together!
