Trevor and I met at Miami University at the beginning of my junior year and his senior year. I moved into a house with 3 other roommates just 5 or so doors down the road from him. One night I got back to my house and Trevor and a friendwere hanging out with one of my housemates. I joined them, and we ended up hanging out all night together. Trevor even went home and told his friend, “That Katie girl is really cool and really good looking”. From then on I started to have a huge crush on Trevor. Despite thinking I was cool and attractive, Trevor however was completely oblivious to his feelings for me. This went on for some time, until a couple months down the road things finally clicked for Trevor : )
He realized all those wonderfully kind things he did for me must have been because he was all along crazy about me and never realized it!
We started dating in February of that year. After just a couple of months, I knew he was the one.. I was head over heels in love. Just like it took Trevor a little longer to realize his feelings for me, it also took him a little longer to realize how much he loved me. Just over a year and a half later, he proposed! We had been talking about marriage for a little while, and Trevor had mentioned he would probably propose sometime in the fall. Well fall came and was almost gone… my birthday (November 20th) was just a couple days away and Thanksgiving was almost here… needless to say I was getting a little frustrated : ) Trevor took my frustration well, knowing that the ring would be coming in very soon! His jeweler called him the day before my birthday and said the ring was in! Trevor rushed in to pick up the ring.He called up all of our family and friends to tell them that today was the day! He organized a party for us to come back to after the proposal and called in dinner reservations at the restaurant we celebrated our first anniversary at, Teller’s in Hyde Park.
He called me and asked if I wanted to go see the train holiday display at the Observatory at Eden Park and then to dinner with his family afterwards. We got over to Eden park and the train display was just about to close so we decided to take a walk around the park instead.
Trevor brought me to a beautiful spot with a gorgeous view and said, “I’m sorry I don’t have a ring for you on your birthday….. (really long pause)…. but I have one for you today.” Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so shocked I said “really?!” and then “YES!!” Now, the wait is almost over and the wedding is almost here! Trevor and I will be getting married this July 6th in Glendale, Ohio. We are both so excited!
