Andrew and I had an interesting beginning.  We met in college through mutual friends.  Upon seeing me for the first time Andrew immediately sensed that I was something special.  Just how special I did not know, but special nonetheless.

As interested as Andrew was from the beginning, I was just as indifferent.  Andrew pursued, stalked might actually be more appropriate, me the next day on Facebook and invited me to go out with him and some friends that next night, my birthday. 

We had a great night out and during the evening’s frivolity, Andrew asked me if I was busy the following week.  Not being interested in Andrew whatsoever, I did not understand what he was asking.  I went on to explain how busy I was with my studies for at least another 3 weeks until midterms were over and then I would have some time to myself.  He walked me home that night and we had a heart to heart.  At the end of the conversation Andrew gave me his number and told me if I was ever interested to give him a call.  Andrew never expected to hear, or see me again.  About three weeks later I called him and we had their first date.

Flash forward through 5 great and wonderful years full of smiles and laughter . . . we decided to get married. We had talked about it for a while, with me still in school and him holding a job in another city, when would be the right time for us?  He wanted to surprise me but kept me up to date about how things were going with regards to the diamond.  Things were not going well and it was taking much longer than either of us had hoped.  For me it was pure anguish!

Then on the Monday before Thanksgiving he found the right diamond but kept stringing me along about what a difficult time he was continuing to have.

Then, on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving he decided to pop the question.  He came over to my house and approached me while I was getting ready to go out with some friends.  He distracted me which was no small feat when I was putting on mascara. He got down on one knee, and asked me to be his wife.  No bells, no whistles. I said Yes.  It was a wonderful decision because we got to celebrate with our friends and family over the holiday weekend.

We can’t say that there was one specific moment where we knew it was right.  It was a culmination of special acts and loving gestures that helped us become best friends and companions.  For us, it was a deep feeling that grew with time until there was no one else as meaningful in each other’s lives and we can’t imagine anybody else we would rather marry.  It is an exciting time and we can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives laughing with the person we truly love.

OUR STORY . . .

I met Dave in my fourth year of college at Kent State University.

Dave was my roommate’s older brother from Columbus whom I hadn’t met in the last four years that I had known her.

We hit it off right away and were constantly traveling back and fourth on weekends to see one another.

I knew Dave was “the one” about a month after we started dating, it was something I could just tell.

He popped the question at midnight on New Year’s Eve 2012. We drove from Cincinnati To Columbus, had a fantastic dinner, and then went for a walk where we ended up at the bench where we decided to officially start dating five years prior.

The city of Columbus lit of fireworks at midnight which helped to make it truly a special moment I’ll never forget.

I will become Mrs David Malone on October 6th!
