Our Engagement Story – Paige & Aric

OUR ENGAGEMENT STORY

Mom always told me that I would find someone when I wasn’t looking and she was right. The night started like any
other girl’s night out, get dolled up, grab some drinks, and see where the night takes you. That night took me into what would be my future. One of Aric’s friends noticed my best friend and me and came over to talk to us. He pointed over to his group of friends who he happened to being going to Xavier grad school with and I saw HIM! He was it!

We were introduced and I knew right away that I had met the man I wanted tospend the rest of my life with. At the end the night we exchanged numbers and I couldn’t wait to hear from him again. Aric took me on an romantic first date at Teak then the Blind Lemon in Mt. Adams. Handsome and has good taste, what more could a girl as for?

We dated for about two and a half years in a style that you would describe as adventurous. Many times we’ve heard family and friends say, “Now where are you two going?”

From hiking, to zip-lining, concerts to skydiving, we’ve shared the passion for excitement and adrenaline rushes. We find comfort in living for the moment and joy in the “what’s next?” As the time passed, friends were getting engaged and I couldn’t wait for our turn. After a few months of what I call gentle prodding, and Aric may call nagging, he took me on the trip of my life time. My birthday is on St. Patrick’s Day so we try to plan a fun trip every year. This year we chose New York City. I was hoping that he would pop the question, but told myself not to let it ruin the trip if it didn’t happen. After my birthday breakfast, we took a stroll through Central Park and we climbed a hill to scope out the view.

Aric asked me if I was having a good birthday. Of course I was! I was in NYC for St. Patty’s Day! Then he asked me if there was anything else that would make it better. In my head, I thought, “a ring of course!” However I played it cool and told him I couldn’t think of anything else. That’s when he turned me around and said he had an idea of how he could make it better, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. There was a squeal, there were tears, and obviously, there was a yes! He was right, but he made the day more than better, he made it perfect. I can’t wait to see what else we have in store for each other!

Our wedding is June 15, 2012!
